Here's three facts about the three 2018 Half Pipe Olyimpics
- Shaun White: The break-out star of the Winter Olympics of years past has set snowboarding records and, most recently, scored the perfect 100 in his qualifying event for the upcomin 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. White also has a number of ventures outside of the Olympics, including a skateboarding career and a stint as the guitarist for a rock band.
- Chloe Kim: Kim qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics, but was only 13 when Sochi rolled around, two years younger than the 15-year-old age eligibility requirement. Days before the Opening Ceremony, Kim became the youngest X Games medalist in history when she won a silver in halfpipe, nearly upsetting legend Kelly Clark, who would go on to win bronze in Russia.
- Ester Ladecka: Winning two disciplines within snowboarding is hard enough, but to win in two separate sports is insane. Leaving a historic path in her wake, Ledecka will leave PyeongChang with two golds, all decided within a second. Close races on both accounts, Ledecka has become an Olympic legend literally in the split of a second. Beating out Germany’s Selina Joerg in the final round, the 22-year-old Czech snowboarder rode into the history books, securing the gold and her legacy
